टीम इंडिया और न्यूजीलैंड इस समय बेंगलुरु के एम चिन्नास्वामी स्टेडियम में पहला टेस्ट मैच खेल रहे हैं। टीम इंडिया ने इस मुकाबले में टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी का फैसला किया था। किंतु उनका निर्णय सही नहीं निकला और टीम अपनी पहली पारी में 46 रन पर ऑलआउट हो गई।
न्यूजीलैंड ने इसके बाद अपनी पहली पारी में सभी विकेट खोकर 402 रन बनाए। टीम इंडिया की दूसरी पारी में युवा बल्लेबाज सरफराज खान ने 18 चौके और तीन छक्कों की मदद से 150 रन बनाए। सरफराज खान ने न्यूजीलैंड के हर गेंदबाज के खिलाफ शानदार प्रहार किया। सरफराज खान के अलावा ऋषभ पंत ने 99 रन बनाए। बेहतरीन विकेटकीपर-बल्लेबाज शतक बनाने से सिर्फ एक रन दूर रहे।
